During this month, you can go to the University of Windsor in Canada and see an exhibit about Pride and Prejudice and Austen.

The exhibit will be located inside the Leddy Library’s main entranceway. Alternatively, the collection, along with more information, can be viewed online via Pinterest.

Durante este mes, se puede ir a la Universidad de Windsor en Canadá y ver una exposición sobre Orgullo y Prejuicio y Austen.

Exhibition/Exposición! Universidad Complutense - Madrid (Spain/España)

Gracias a Victoria, nos enteramos que a partir de esta semana que entra, y durante Diciembre, la Biblioteca de Filología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, hace una exposición de los 200 años de Orgullo y Prejuicio, mostrando sus fondos sobre Jane Austen. 

Constará de una exposición presencial en la sala de la Biblioteca General (Edificio A) y dos exposiciones virtuales, una con los fondos que se exponen físicamente y otra sobre Jane Austen y el cine, donde recogen todas las películas y series basadas en la obra o la vida de la autora.

Thanks to Victoria, we have known that starting this coming week, and during December, the Library of Philology at the Complutense University of Madrid, will be holding an exhibition of the 200 years of Pride and Prejudice, showing its funds on Jane Austen.

It will include a physical exhibition in the hall of the General Library (Building A) and two virtual exhibitions, with the funds that are physically and another set of Jane Austen and film, where they collect all the movies and series based on the work or the life of the author.

Though it started in August 26, you have till next Thursday, November 7 to see this exhibition: Pride and Prejudice: 200 Years of the Divine Jane, at the Tredway Library, Augustana College, Rock Island. It features editions of Pride and Prejudice and Jane Austen artifacts.

Exhibition!Exposición! Literature in English, 1713-1913 - Union College, Schenectady - EEUU/USA

On 8th October, Schaffer Library opened “Literature in English, 1713-1913”, an exhibition that lasts till 17th December. The exhibiton, curated by Schaffer’s Head of Technical Services Annette LeClair, features the library’s first edition copy of Austen’s novel. You can also see rare editions of literary works from England, Scotland, Ireland and the United States published during this time period comprise the rest of the exhibit.

El 8 de octubre, la biblioteca Schaffer inauguró "Literatura en Inglés, 1713-1913", una exposición que dura hasta el 17 de diciembre. La exposición, organizada por la Jefa de los Servicios Técnicos de Schaffer, Annette LeClair, cuenta con la primera copia de la edición de la novela de Austen. También puede ver ediciones raras de las obras literarias de Inglaterra, Escocia, Irlanda y los Estados Unidos publicadas durante este período de tiempo.

Exhibition/Exposición: 'She had dressed with more than usual care' - UK/Reino Unido

Since 1st of October till December, you can go to the Jane Austen's House Museum at Chawton eand enjoy the following exhibition: "She had dressed with more then usual care". According to the website of the museum:

"She had dressed with more than usual care" September - December 2013. An exhibition of costumes from the 1995 BBC television production of Pride and Prejudice. Not all printed muslin and wet shirts...

 As you know, Dinah Collin designed the clothes for the series and since then she has done many movies's clothes creations such as The Ghost Writer, Hyde Park on Hudson or The Bourne Supremacy.

 Desde 01 de octubre hasta diciembre, se puede ir a la Casa Museo de Jane Austen en Chawton y disfrutar de las siguientes exposiciones: "Se había vestido con más de la atención habitual". Según el sitio web del museo:

"Se había vestido con más atención habitual" desde septiembre hasta diciembre de 2013. Una exposición de trajes típicos de la producción de televisión BBC de Orgullo y Prejuicio 1995. No todo muselina estampada y camisas mojadas ...

Hasta el 26 Agosto 2013: La camisa mojada de Darcy (1995) en una exposición en Northumberland/Colin Firth's wet shirt in Northumberland

Aunque no podemos decir que la camisa mojada que lució Colin Firth en su papel de Darcy en la versión de Orgullo y Prejuicio de 1995 (ver AQUÍ) sea algo muy “austeniano” sino más bien “firthiano”, esta vez aceptaremos pulpo como animal de compañía y, dado que parte del enorme éxito que tuvo esa versión se debió precisamente a esa escena, me he decidido apublicar este post. También porque sé que hay muchos de los seguidores del blog que están especialmente interesados en la moda de la época de regencia.

Para las que seais incondicionales, tenéis la oportunidad de verla junto con el resto de ropa de época que se utilizó en las distintas versiones de las obras de Jane Austen.  La exposición se hará para celebrar el Bicentenario de la publicación de Orgullo y Prejuicio y tendrá lugar en la mansión del siglo XIX, Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, Northumberland, UK. A ver quién puede aprovechar los meses de vacaciones….

 

Although we can not say that wet shirt worn by Colin Firth in the role of Darcy in Pride and Prejudice version 1995 (see HERE) is something very "janeite" but rather "firthianite" this time, as part of the huge success of that release was due precisely to that scene, I decided publish this post. Also because I know there are many fans of the blog that are especially interested in the fashion of the Regency era.

For you to be hardcore, you have the chance to see it along with other vintage clothing that was used in the various versions of the works of Jane Austen. The exhibition will be to celebrate the bicentenary of the publication of Pride and Prejudice and will take place in the nineteenth century mansion, Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, Northumberland, UK. Let's see who can take the vacation months ....

Enormemente agradecida a Cin, de la web Jane Austen en Castellano (http://janeaustencastellano.wordpress.com/) que, a colación de que en la carta que le escribía ayer Jane a su hermana Cassandra, se mencionaba la visita que iba a hacer con su hermano Henry a la exposición de Sir Joshua Reynolds, ha tenido a bien enviarme un enlace que  ha publicado la profesora Janine Barchas, interesantísimo.

En el enlace se reproduce exactamente igual la exposición que Jane Austen vio. (Para ir por las distintas salas, en la parte de arriba, donde pone “floor plan”, pincháis, y tenéis el plano. En ese plano, no pinchéis en las habitaciones, sino en los números, y os llevará a la colección de cuadros que estaban expuestos en la pared correspondiente. Es muy fácil, ya veréis).

Si recordáis, en la carta Jane decía que tenía especial interés en encontrar a la Sra. Darcy (o sea, a Lizzy), pero que estaba muy disgustada porque no había encontrado nada que se le asemejara ni remotamente… ¿Estáis de acuerdo? ¡Pues a moverse por la exposición… como si estuvierais viéndola con la mismísima Jane, a ver si tenéis mejor ojo que ella!

Hace doscientos años (día arriba, día abajo..) JANE ESTABA VIENDO… ¡ESTO!

Travelling Exhibition - Exposición itinerante - UK/Reino Unido

Cyn from Jacastellano, tells us that there is going to be a travelling exhibition in United Kingdom
According to This is Hampshire, The Jane Austen House Museum, which as you already know, is making awesome things for the Anniversary, has received a £30,800 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund for this exhibition. It will introduce people to the museum, and how the novel has been adapted in different media. It will also appear at Laycock Abbey near Chippenham and Lyme Park at Stockport.

Según This is Hampshire, La Casa Museo de Jane Austen, que como ya sabéis, está haciendo grandes cosas para este Aniversario, ha recibido 30,800 libras de los fondos de la Heritage Lottery Fund (ganancias de la Lotería Nacional en Reino Unido) para esta exhibición. Permitirá a la gente conocer el museo y como la novela se ha traducido a diferentes mediso. También ser verá en Laycock Abbey cerca de Chippenham y Lyme Park en Stockport.
