The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the longlist of songs for its Best Original Song Oscar in 2014, ahead of the nominations for the shortlist on January 14. There are 4 original songs written by Emmy The Great for Austenland:

• L.O.V.E.D.A.R.C.Y
• What Up

Let's cross fingers for the next 14th January, so one of the songs can be part of the final race. Also, we would like a relase of the soundtrack apart from iTunes.

Film! Austenland en España: En Tierra de Jane Austen - final distribution

Ayer la IMDB nos dió la sorpresa de que finalmente, Austenland se podrá ver en España sin recurrir a la importación. Desafortunadamente, tendremos que conformarnos con el DVD en alquiler a partir del 29/01/2014.

Además, se ha traducido como "En Tiera de Jane Austen" (In the land of Jane Austen).

En fin, algo es algo...no podremos ir al cine, pero siempre podremos hacer una fiesta con los amigos :) y recurrir a una tele grande para simular una sensación similar :)

Yesterday IMDB gave us the surprise that finally Austenland will be displayed in Spain without resorting to imports. Unfortunately, we'll have to settle for the DVD to rent from 29/01/2014.
In addition, it has been translated as "In Tiera Jane Austen" (In the land of Jane Austen).
Anyway, that's something ... we can not go to the movies, but we can always have a party with friends :) and resort to a big TV to simulate a similar feeling :)

Austenland: DVD & Bluray - February/Febrero 2014

Gracias a Marge Cavani, hemos sabido que en febrero del año que viene, se pone a la venta el DVD para EEUU y zonas comunes en DVD y Bluray. Para Europa, según Amazon, en sus sitios en Alemania y Reino Unido, la listan el 3 de febrero de 2014. El DVD inglés dice que viene doblada al castellano también, y con subtítulos en hindi y polaco, además de inglés y español. 

En cambio, la versión estadounidense parece que sólo viene en inglés.

Mientras programamos una fiesta de pijamas para verla dentro de menos de tres meses, seguimos esperando, al menos en España, que nos la estrenen *cruzamos los dedos* :)

Thanks to Marge Cavani, we learned that in February next year, Austenland DVD will be sold for the U.S. and common areas on DVD and Bluray. For Europe, according to Amazon on their sites in Germany and the United Kingdom, it is listed on 3 February 2014. The English DVD comes dubbed into Castilian too, apparently, and with subtitles in Hindi and Polish in addition to English and Spanish. Instead, the U.S. version seems to come only in English.
While we schedule a sleepover to see it in less than three months, we are still waiting, at least in Spain, the premiere * fingers crossed * :)

Aunque Austenland ya se puede ver por completo en EEUU, todos los austenitas de fuera de ese país aún nos preguntamos cuándo se presentará en nuestros países. Porque aunque la crítica diga que sea agradable o sea terrible, necesitamos verla por nuestros propios ojos :). Ahora mismo, estas son las fechas de estreno que da la IMDB. En España, sabemos que se ha doblado (ver ficha en ElDoblaje.com), y algunas hemos visto alguna nota de prensa, pero aún no tenemos ni idea de cuando aparecerá. ¡Ay!

Although Austenland can already be seen completely in the U.S., all janeites outside that country still wonder when it will be released in our countries. Because although critics say it is nice or horrible, we need to see it with our own eyes :). Right now, these are the release dates given by IMDB. In Spain, we know that it has been dubbed (see chart on ElDoblaje.com), and some have seen a press note, but we still have no idea when it will appear.Oh!

Even if you will see more pics of our meeting in Madrid, we wanted to show specially a pic for our Janeite pals in San Diego (USA). Gabi, very well known there, brought with her from San Diego, in her Mexican suitcase, these Austenland postcards, given by the Californian Janeites. We don't know when we are going to see Austenland yet, maybe in Christmas, but we love to have this little and full of love presents! Thank ladies and gentlemen, we hope to meet someday! The previews of Austenland have started in USA. Even if it will be released next 16th of August in New York and Los Angeles, before the big release on 23rd August, some janeites are already enjoying it, thanks to Sony.

Gabi, our lovely lady in the border ;) (I hope you are not angry with me for that nickname), will probably watch it and send us a review :). I am very thrilled to know her point of view, but I am more thrilled to know when the film will be released outside USA and Canada. I even wonder if some publishing house in Spain has the rights of the novel...and even as kitsch as it looks, we all need to see Austenland!! no matter our country!

Meanwhile we leave you with an old interview of the producer, someone called "Stephanie Meyer", but probably that name does not "sparkle" in your memory (of course, this is sarcasm, she's the writer of Twilight ;))

El preestreno de Austenland ha comenzado en EE.UU. Incluso antes del estreno del próximo 16 de agosto en Nueva York y Los Angeles, y much antes del gran lanzamiento del 23 de agosto, unos austenitas ya la están disfrutando, gracias a Sony.

Gabi, nuestra encantadora dama en la frontera;) (espero que no estés enojada conmigo por ese apodo), probablemente la verá y nos envíe un comentario :). Estoy muy emocionada de conocer su punto de vista, pero estaría más contenta si supiera cuándo saldrá la película fuera de EE.UU. y Canadá. Incluso me pregunto si alguna editorial de España tiene los derechos de la novela ... e incluso por muy kitsch que como parece, ¡todos tenemos que ver Austenland! ¡sin importar nuestro país!

Mientras tanto os dejamos con una vieja entrevista de la productora, un tal "Stephanie Meyer", pero probablemente ese nombre no "brille" en la memoria (por supuesto, esto es sarcasmo, ya que es la autora de Crepúsculo;))

Por fin, podéis entrar en la página web de Austenland...y aunque tenga un diseño que nos sorprende, de una manera extraña...pues es kitsch y alucinante, no podemos evitar entrar y ver cada uno de los rincones donde se nos da información de la película. Así, su directora nos cuenta cómo quería hacer una película para chicas cuando hablaba con la escritora de la novela Shannon Hale, tenemos una galería con citas de Jane Austen, el trailer, información del elenco y la parte y mucho más....no os lo perdáis.

Ahora sólo nos queda una duda, equipo de marketing de Austenland, ¿cuándo sabremos las fechas de estreno fuera de USA y Reino Unido? Vamos, que tenemos muchas ganas de ver la peli :)

Films, films, films: Austelando & Pride, Prejudice and Zombies

Parece que tenemos noticias frescas de alguna peli algo podrída (Pride, Prejudice & Zombies) y otra que estaba parada (Austenland).

Respecto a esta última, Variety nos dice que se estrenará el 16 de Agosto en EEUU, lo cual es un gran paso para que podamos ver en otros países. Dicen las fuentes cercanas al film, que las mujeres la adorarán...veremos ;)

Sobre la otra, tras pasar por diversas manos para ser dirigida y protagonizada, parece que Lily Collins (City of Bones, Mirror, Mirror) va a ser Elizabeth Bennet...en fin, veremos si sobrevive otro ataque y tenemos que verla al final o no :S. La dirección será realizada por Burr Steers (17 otra vez)



Looks like we have some fresh news something rotten movie (Pride, Prejudice & Zombies) and another that was being waited for (Austenland).

Regarding the latter, Variety tells us to be released on August 16 in the U.S., which is a big step for us to see in other countries. Close sources to the film say that women will love it ... we'll see;)

On the other hand, after passing through various hands to be directed and starred, it seems that Lily Collins (City of Bones, Mirror Mirror) is going to be Elizabeth Bennet ... well, we'll see if it survives another attack and we have to see it at the end or not: S. It seems, it doesn't want to really die and comes back from the dead films' file. Panorama media is going to join the production staff...now, if David O. Russell doesn't come back after the film about Abscam scandal, they have to hire a new director and the cast.
Parece que, realmente no quiere morirse y vuelve del fichero de films muertos. Panorama media va a unirse al grupo de producción...ahora, que si David O. Russell no vuelve tras su film sobre el escándalo Abscam, tendrán que buscarse un nuevo director y elenco.

Death Comes to Pemberley:
The miniseries, which is in pre-production, is looking for their stars. The last rumour says we will have Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) or Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) as Mr Darcy.

Even if we are not watching a new umpteenth version of Pride and Prejudice this next year, we will be able to enjoy this new postmodern version of a janeite tale for Janeites. Based on a book by Shannon Hale published in 2007, Jesusha Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) brings us an adaptation of it with Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Jane Seymour, Bret McKenzie and many others as stars. In cases like this one, we just hope we can have a nice enterteining movie, and if we get a hearted homage to janeites, it would be the best.
The film premieres next January in Sundance Festival and the plot is as follows: "Obsessed with the BBC production of "Pride and Prejudice", a woman travels to a Jane Austen theme park in search for her perfect gentleman"
We will keep writing all the news about this film as any Janeite film that is premiered this year. Just stay tuned! :)

Incluso si no vamos a ver una nueva y enésima versión de Orgullo y Prejuicio este próximo año, podremos disfrutar esta versión nueva y posmoderna de un cuento austeniano para austenitas Basada en la novela de Shannon Hale, publicada en 2007, Jesusha Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) nos trae una adaptación de ella con Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Jane Seymour, Bret McKenzie y muchos otros como estrellas. En casos como este, esperamos tener una agradable película entretenida, y si conseguimos un homenaje de corazón a los austenitas, sería lo mejor.
La película se estrena el próximo mes de Enero en el Festival de Sundance y la trama es la siguiente: "Obsesionada con la serie de la BBC de "Orgullo y Prejuicio", una mujer viaja a un parque temático de Jane Austen, para encontrar al caballero perfecto."
Iremos publicando todas las noticias sobre esta película o cualquier film austeniano que se estrene este año. ¡Estad atentos! :)
