La semana pasada hicimos una merienda austeniana en Málaga, España. Nos lo pasamos realmente bien y además de ver a unas encantadoras amigas, pudimos conocer a gente nueva, con muchas ganas de hablar de Austen. Os cuento a todas, españolas o no, fue genial e incluso, pudimos conocer a Marie-Laure, que ha escrito la primera secuela en español. Como lamentablemente ocurre en estos casos, aunque no creo en la literatura por sexos, sólo hubo un caballero qu ese atreviera a venir, y lo hizo en calidad de espectador de adaptaciones. Hay que animarse a leer a Austen. A las chicas también les pueden gustar los crímenes y Tolkien, asi que no tengan prejuicios caballeros.

Fue un placer compartir una tarde tan estupenda, con gente tan animada y esperamos poder hacer otra Austen meeting en 2014, como ésta o como el picnic que hicimos en Madrid, si no lo habéis visto, consultad esta entrada de aquí.

Last week we made a janeite snack in Malaga, Spain. We had a really good and besides seeing some lovely friends, we met new people, eager to talk about Austen. I tell them all, that Spanish or not, it was awesome and we could even meet Marie -Laure, who has written the first sequel in Spanish . As unfortunately happens in these cases, we do not believe in gender literature, and there was only one gentleman what that dared to talk, and did it as adaptations viewer. We should encourage men to read Austen. The girls might like crimes and Tolkien too, so men should not have no prejudices.It was a pleasure to share such a wonderful evening, with such lively people and hope to do another Austen meeting in 2014, like this or like the picnic we did in Madrid, if you have not seen , consult this entry here.

Para quienes no leyerais la entrada en su día, os recuerdo que esta tarde a las 18.00 tendrá lugar en La Casa del Libro de Málaga Capital (c/ Nueva, 5), organizamos una merienda/encuentro para hablar de Jane Austen. Habrá sorteos, juegos, lectura, merienda, comentarios sobre la vida y obra de Jane Austen, libros, etc. Podéis ir vestidas de época si os apetece pero no es obligatorio. Eso sí, es muy divertido.

No olvidéis comentar por Twitter, Facebook o blogger, aunque no vengáis, nos encanta teneros presentes.

También en Buenos Aires, a las 4.30, en la tetería Pierina, habrá un encuentro austeniano organizado por JaCastellano.

For those who did not read this entry on its day, I remind you that this afternoon at 18.00, at La Casa del Libro de Málaga Capital (c / Nueva, 5) we organize a picnic / meeting to discuss Jane Austen. There will be raffles, games, reading, snack, comments on the life and works of Jane Austen, books, etc.. You can go dressed in period costume if you fancy but not required. That itself is very fun.

Os escribimos porque creemos que no ha quedado muy claro el tema de este concurso en el que podéis participar hasta el 14 de Junio. Antes de nada, para los que habláis castellano, podéis optar a 4 premios:

• Evelina, cedida gentilmente por Editorial D'Epoca
• 2 camisetas con diseño exclusivo y que todavía no se pueden comprar, con frase de VictoriaAusten y dibujo de Almudena Romero.
• Un bolso vintage de Broches Nereuchi, con un bonito broche cedida por Esther, la artista de este blog. 

 

Los regalos los mandaremos a cualquier parte del mundo donde vivais. Y sobre las camisetas, podéis escoger color, talla y el idioma de la frase (inglés o español).

¿Qué es lo que debéis hacer? Es muy fácil, cualquiera de estas cosas, porque son las actividades que estamos haciendo en este blog para celebrar el aniversario. Así, podeis:

About our competition for the 11th anniversary of El Sitio de Jane: prizes and more Pride and Prejudice

We write because we believe this contest is not well explained and we fear you can miss the chance to participate  till June 14. First of all, for those who speak English, you can opt to 3 awards:

• 2 exclusive T-Shirts that you can't still buy online, with quotation by VictoriaAusten and design by Almudena Romero.
• A Vintage bag by Broches Nereuchi, with a beautiful brooche given by Esther, the artist of this blog. 

 

The gifts will be sent to anywhere in the world where you live. And on the shirts, you can choose color, size and language of the quotation (English or Spanish).

What you should do? It's easy, any of these things, because they are the activities we are doing in this blog to celebrate the anniversary. So you can:

• Take a picture with your book of Pride and Prejudice. You can be in the picture, the book can be on your bookshelf, or with your janeite stuff, nice sights of your city, a landmark, etc. ...
• Take a picture of yoursefl with a quote from Pride and Prejudice on somewhere nice you like it.
• Request a quotation to sitiojane@gmail.com , we will give you some words, and you'll have to take a picture of yourself with them.

In any case, once you've taken the picture, you must send it to this email (sitiojane@gmail.com) or via twitter (@salonjaneausten), with your name, city or country. If you do not receive a confirmation email in a couple of days, send it again.

Evelina en español mañana a la venta/in Spanish tomorrow for sale

Ponemos una breve nota de que Evelina de Fanny Burney, estará a la venta mañana en español gracias a la gran editorial D'Epoca. Evelina inspiró bastante a Austen a la hora de realizar Orgullo y Prejuicio, y ésta edición trae multitud de notas y geniales ilustraciones de la época, por lo que cualquier buen austenita, puede leerla por fin en este idioma.

Cartas de Jane Austen - Jane Austen Letters in Spanish

Esta semana, los austenitas que hablamos castellano, tenemos un gran acontecimiento que celebrar. La editorial D'Epoca por fin, y afortunadamente, ha podido publicar las cartas de Jane Austen en nuestro idioma. Hasta ahora, sólo las podíamos encontrar en inglés o bien en castellano, en HablandodeJane de mi compañera de blog, Mila. Aunque ella seguirá traduciendo momentos de las cartas de Jane Austen, y durante este 2013, nos traerá lo mejor de lo relacionado con Orgullo y Prejuicio, estamos de celebración. Los editores de D'Epoca, tras un gran trabajo, nos traen un libro de más de 700 páginas, donde no sólo se traducen las cartas, si no que se incluye una estupenda labor de investigación, con cronologías, indices, notas, introducciones históricas y mucho más.

Actualmente, sólo está disponible en España, pero si escribís a la editorial, seguro que os informan como conseguir este tesoro en otras partes

This week, all the Spanish-speaking Janeites, have a great party to celebrate. D'Epoca publishing house, has finally and fortunately, published the Jane Austen letters in this language. Till now, they were just available in English or in Spanish in HablandodeJane by my blog colleague, Mila.  She will keep translating moments of the letters of Jane Austen, in during this 2013, she will bring us the best which is related to Pride and Prejudice. Anyway, we are celebrating this new book. D'Epoca editors, after a superb work, bring us a book of more than 700 pages, where they not just translate the letters, but include a great work, with chronologies, indexes, notes and historical introductions and more.

Now, it is just available in Spain, but if you write to the Publishing House, I am sure they will let you know how to get this great book in other places.
