Evento/Event!

We thank Antonio Puente, for inviting us to the film series that is performed as a parallel activity to Pride and Prejudice Colloquium, organized by the Universidad Autónoma de Mexico. We'd love to go, but unfortunately, we live far away. This is why we encourage our dear Mexicans to go if they are close to the University and of course, we encourage you to tell us your experencia, enjoying films like those presented :)

Film! Austenland: International dates/Fechas internacionales - Deutsch Promo

¡Ay!

Although Austenland can already be seen completely in the U.S., all janeites outside that country still wonder when it will be released in our countries. Because although critics say it is nice or horrible, we need to see it with our own eyes :). Right now, these are the release dates given by IMDB. In Spain, we know that it has been dubbed (see chart on ElDoblaje.com), and some have seen a press note, but we still have no idea when it will appear.Oh!

Canada: 20/09/2013     (limited)

UK/Reino Unido: 20/09/2013     (Kirkcaldy Film Festival)

Film! Austenland preview & +

The previews of Austenland have started in USA. Even if it will be released next 16th of August in New York and Los Angeles, before the big release on 23rd August, some janeites are already enjoying it, thanks to Sony.

Gabi, our lovely lady in the border ;) (I hope you are not angry with me for that nickname), will probably watch it and send us a review :). I am very thrilled to know her point of view, but I am more thrilled to know when the film will be released outside USA and Canada. I even wonder if some publishing house in Spain has the rights of the novel...and even as kitsch as it looks, we all need to see Austenland!! no matter our country!

Meanwhile we leave you with an old interview of the producer, someone called "Stephanie Meyer", but probably that name does not "sparkle" in your memory (of course, this is sarcasm, she's the writer of Twilight ;))

Film! Austenland has an active website!

Finally, you can enter into the website of Austenland movie... and even if the design surprises us, in a strange way ... it is so amazing kitsch and you can not help but go inside and see each of the places where we there is information about the film. So, its director tells how she wanted to do a chick flick when she spoke with writer Shannon Hale, we have a gallery with quotes from Jane Austen, the trailer, and cast information and more .... do not miss it.
Now we just have a question, Austenland marketing team, when are we going to know the release dates outside of the U.S. and the UK? Come on, we are keen to see the movie :)
