Feliz 2014 - Happy 2014
Finally, yesterday had not the last entry. It would be unfair if we wouldn't wish you a happy 2014 :)

Adios...Goodbye...

Today we close a spectacular year. We wave goodbye to Mr. Darcy and Lizzy and all their relatives and friends. We have celebrated two hundred years of Pride and Prejudice, sharing a passion with thousand of admirers from all over the world.
Personally, it has been a dream come true for us. If anyone would have told is many years back that we were going to be able to get together they way we have done it, we would have hardly believed it. It has been a privilege for which we feel really honoured and we are also grateful to life and Internet for making it possible.
Even if the year has been very intense, and I and Carmen had personal and professional matters of certain weight added to the celebrations, we were able to do a project which was a dream to both, for different reasons. Celebrations, meetings, contests, photos, videos, janeite vindication in the shape of T-Shirts...
We cannot forget the drawings made by Almudena. She has shown us all her art, all she could, giving us wonderful illustrations and posters. Her support has been constant as well as her generosity and love.
We cannot stop talking about our collaborators and artist, who have sent us wonderful articles, great creations, and of course, pictures we won't forget. Thanks to Reinier, Daphne, Pahola, Conchi, Rosa, Dely, Toñi, Nuria, Scarlett, Victoria and the rest. If we don't write your name is because we would never finish, not because we don't appreciate all the good things you have done in this bicentennary.
Another thing we want to talk about is about the meetings we were able to manage in Madrid and Malaga. The picnic was wonderful and a real dream, with many janeites from several points of Spain and Mexico, finally meeting each other and having fun (you can see the video below). The meeting in the south of Spain was a great evening, like every one you have with awesome people.
We have very little to add. Although sometimes Mila's little grumpy side told her “Oh! When will this Darcy thing be over for good?”, and Carmen too, we can assure that we feel happy and satisfied with all the work we have carried out. Mila thinks that one is left often with the feeling that it could have been better, but never with less spirit and perseverence. And we feel specially grateful for all the people we have met, both personally or through the net, we have been finally able to talk, talk and talk about Jane Austen. And we hope we will be able to keep doing it for many bicentennaries yet to come.
After more than 650 posts, more than 20000 visits from all over the world, more than 100 pics in Flickr and more than 350 followers in Google and Facebook, we have to say goodby. Do not think it is forever. Because Fanny Price is over there and maybe we can manage to organize something else. So we are still standing.

Personalmente, ha sido un sueño
hecho realidad. Si hace ya algunos años nos hubiesen dicho que íbamos a tener la
oportunidad de celebrar el Bicentenario de Orgullo y Perjuicio de esta manera,
jamás nos lo habríamos podido creer. Ha sido un un privilegio por el que nos sentimos
honradas y le damos gracias a la vida y a Internet por haberlo hecho posible.
Aunque el año ha sido intenso,
pues tanto Carmen como yo hemos tenido eventos personales y laborales de
cierta gravedad y envergadura añadidos a las celebraciones, hemos podido sacar
adelante un proyecto con el que ambas soñábamos, cada una por razones
distintas. Celebraciones, encuentros, concursos, fotos, vídeos,
reivindicaciones austenitas en forma de camiseta…
No podemos olvidar las ilustraciones que nos ha hecho Almudena. Nos ha enseñado su arte todo lo que ha podido, proporcionándonos ilustraciones y carteles maravillosos. Y su apoyo ha sido constante como su generosidad y cariño.

Tampoco podemos dejar de citar a todos nuestros colaboradores y artistas, que nos han pasado artículos maravillosos, creaciones increíbles y por supuesto, fotos que no olvidaremos. Gracias a Reinier, Daphne, Pahola, Conchi, Rosa, Dely, Toñi, Nuria, Scarlett, Victoria, y a todos los demás. Si no os nombramos es porque no acabaríamos nunca, no porque no sepamos apreciar todo lo bueno que habéis hecho en este bicentenario.
Otra cosa de que la que queremos hablar, es de los encuentros que pudimos organizar en Madrid y en Málaga. El picnic fue estupendo y un sueño hecho realidad, con muchas austenitas de diversos puntos de España y México, viéndose por fin y pasándoselo muy bien (os dejamos vídeo). El encuentro en el sur, fue una tarde estupenda, como todas las que se tienen con personas maravillosas.
Tenemos poco más que añadir. Aunque
a veces Mila sentía que su pequeña cascarrabias soltaba un “¡estoy hasta el gorro de Mr.
Darcy!”, y Carmen también, os podemos asegurar que nos sentimos felices, y satisfechas, de
todo el trabajo realizado. Mila cree que siempre le queda a una la impresión de que podria
haberse hecho mejor, pero no con más ilusión y tesón. Y sobre todo, nos sentimos
muy agradecidas por toda la gente que hemos podido conocer en persona, o en la red,
con la que hemos podido ¡hablar, y hablar y seguir hablando de Jane! Esperamos poder seguir haciéndolo, si os apetece, durante muchos más bicentenarios y años.
