Proxima Actividad: Las Mejores Frases de Orgullo y Prejuicio/Next Activity: Pride and Prejudice's Best Sentences

Queridos lectores:

Este fin de semana empezaremos, dentro de las actividades programadas para celebrar el 200 aniversario de la publicación de Orgullo y Prejuicio en el blog que hemos preparado para ello, a comentar las mejores frases del libro.

Lo haremos de la siguiente manera:

-    Cada semana propondremos las mejores frases de dos capítulos (tened en cuenta que OP tiene 61 capítulos, así que vamos a estar 30 semanitas ocupados con el tema). Podemos comentarlas o sugerir alguna otra (dentro de los capítulos propuestos).

-         Al final de cada semana, elegiremos las frases que finalmente nos hayan parecido mejores y se hará una encuesta que se podrá votar (quedará fija en el blog para que se pueda hacer a lo largo de todo este periodo). Lo iremos haciendo así para cada semana.

-     Cuando acabemos el libro, haremos una entrada especial con el resumen de lo que los lectores han considerado las mejores frases del libro.

Solo puedo añadiros que cada vez que leo OP descubro nuevos detalles, nuevas profundidades… Me interesa mucho comentar con vosotras nuevas reflexiones a las que he llegado mientras lo volvía a leer para elegir las frases… ¡seguro que va a haber diversidad de opiniones!, porque Jane expone en el libro situaciones que, incluso hoy en día, producen cierta controversia social. O las decisiones que se toman sobre el amor… Ya lo iremos viendo, ya….

¡Espero que disfrutéis con esta actividad! Vamos a analizar a los Bennet y a los Darcy hasta la médula….

Muy probablemente nos salgan resultados diferentes para las lectoras hispano parlantes y las angloparlantes, así que también será muy interesante poder analizar estas diferencias y hacer conjeturas de por qué es así...

Dear Readers:

This week-end we’ll start with a new activity, added to the others programmed in this blog.

Every week we shall chose several sentences from two chapters of PP (there are 61 chapters, so we have 30 weeks to go!). We shall comment them, suggest maybe another ones and at the end of every week we will decide which are the most outstanding.

Then, we’ll make a poll, where people will vote for their favourites. When we finish with the whole book, we shall leave the polls for a few more weeks so that people can keep voting, and then make a selection of those that have been definitely cosen as the best sentences of Pride and Prejudice.

I have been in charge of chosing the sentences, and I’ll try to moderate, with the help of M Carmen and Almudena, your suggestions and comments.

I can only add that each time I re-read PP I discover new details, new depths… I’m really interested on commenting with you my new thoughts and impressions while chosing the sentences… I’m sure we’ll have very different opinions as Jane deals with situations that, even nowadays, produce a certain social controversy. Even regarding the decisions people take when it comes to love… We’ll see….

We hope you enjoy it!! We are going to scrutinize the Bennets and the Darcys without mercy…. But with all the sense and sensibility Jane deserves…

It will also be very interesting to analyze the difference I think will be in the choice of the best sentences for spanish readers and english readers. Let's go for it!!

Last week, I was hanging out with two beloved friends and Janeites, AnnEw and Lady Briela ;), and we prepared our pic for the Quotation Tribute. We were in Benalmádena, Spain.
